Fight against corruption and election of President of the Republic
Organization Transparency – Serbia is satisfied because of the fact that fight against corruption was one of issues discussed during Presidential election campaign. Although authorities of President in this area aren't vast, we consider that he, with his authority, President can influence Government and others in society in order to keep fight against corruption high on the list of priorities, but also to prevent such priority to exist as declaration only.
In that sense, especially important is support for consistent implementation of anticorruption regulations. Considering that one of the key regulations of that kind is Law on Financing of Political Parties, public rightfully expects from party of elected president and from all parties that proposed other candidates in elections, to submit in deadline until February 13 th complete reports on structure and amount used for campaign financing, as well as on which expenses they had in a campaign. Even more important is that representatives of parties in Republic Election Commission seriously understand their task to check reports on campaign financing, in order not to repeat situation after all previous elections, that besides reasonable doubt in breaking law, public stays denied for official information on that and that violators stay unpunished.
