State aid control

 

Transparency – Serbia emphasizes that draft Law on Control of State Aid, which is in procedure in National Assembly, should be amended in order to make this control more efficient , and that public could have more complete insight into data on awarded state aid and it's effects. We submitted prepositions of specific amendments to this draft Law to parliamentary groups and to Ministry of Finances .

 

We especially emphasize that concept of institutions that are supposed to deal with control of state aid should be reconsidered . State aid , by stated draft law , is controlled in order to determine whether it unjustifiably privileges some participants of the market . Transparency – Serbia considers that in the existing conditions of economic crisis it would be more rational to entrust state control aid to existing Commission for Protection of Competition , which has necessary independence and infrastructure and deals with similar activities , rather then to establish special body that would deal with implementation of that law .
