Publishing of the new Corruption Perception Index of Transparency International

Organization Transparency Serbia is glad to inform you that Corruption Perception Index of Transparency International for 2007 will be published on September 26 th at 11 o'clock by central- European time. Results are simultaneously published in 180 world countries .

Corruption Perception Index of TI is one of the most eminent and quoted ranking of countries in regards to impressions and perception about widespread of corruption, whose publishing governments and anticorruption activists all around the world expect with impatience, but also investors which do business with countries where the risk of corruption is lesser.

Index is made on the bases of independent and credible researches made in past three years. To rank some country it is necessary to have at least three of such researches. Serbia (along with Montenegro ) from the year of 2003 is constantly on this lists, with continual and gradual rise of index (from 2, 3 to 3 ,0, at the scale from 0 to 10), which was until now insufficient for exiting the group of countries which are considered highly corrupted.

This year, for the first time Serbia is ranked as independent state, on the basis of data from 6 substantive researches which are based on the data from 2006. and 2007.
