Strengthening EU Collaboration to Uncover and Resist Emerging Corruption - SECURE
SECURE is a joint initiative that combines research, digital technology, training, and participatory approaches to strengthen anti-corruption efforts and ensure greater accountability across Europe.
Transparency International, in partnership with Transcrime (UCSC), ten TI chapters, and two law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies, is implementing the SECURE – Strengthening EU Collaboration to Uncover and Resist Emerging Corruption project. The project aims to enhance EU-level efforts against corruption by identifying and preventing current and emerging risks across Europe.
This project is implemented from September 2025 to July 2027. in Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Serbia, Slovakia, as well as coordinated by Transparency International EU in Brussels.
SECURE contributes to strengthening EU Member States’ and neighboring countries’ capacities to detect, investigate, and prosecute corruption, as well as implement preventive measures. The project focuses on high-level corruption, public sector transparency, protection of public interest, and supporting media and citizens in reporting corruption.
Expected results include:
- Practical tools and mechanisms for preventing and investigating corruption;
- Improved cooperation among governments, agencies, judiciary, media, and civil society;
- Increased implementation of EU recommendations to strengthen the rule of law and combat corruption;
- Enhanced data collection and risk monitoring capabilities.
